Success Story

TK Elevator - Cybersecurity

Case study

In addition to internal use for numerous contracts and documents, TK Elevator uses LAWLIFT to streamline its customers' system documentation for cybersecurity, so that they are optimally prepared for their next TÜV inspection of their elevator systems.

The past

Before TKE introduced LAWLIFT, their process was based on a combination of Excel templates and multiple Word documents. This either required significant internal effort to create the documents or customers to find the right document themselves. They were also faced with the challenge of representing different variants of their services. The options of creating a separate PDF for each variant, which customers could download themselves, were error-prone and not user-friendly. Alternatively, they could have offered the personalization themselves, but this would have tied up additional capacities and possibly meant additional costs for them and ultimately for the customers.

The new approach

The introduction of LAWLIFT has simplified the process substantially. They now have a single, intuitive template that customers can easily use on their website. This step not only simplifies the creation process for customer-specific documents, but also significantly improves the user experience. Through LAWLIFT, customers can now independently run through the different variants for testing the cybersecurity of their system without having to download error-prone PDFs or TKE devoting additional internal resources to document creation. This approach has resulted in a one-off initial effort, but has greatly increased customer satisfaction as they now have greater autonomy in designing their solutions. Customer satisfaction and system safety are top priorities for TKE, and the introduction of LAWLIFT has enabled them to improve these further.

Impact

The transition to LAWLIFT has drastically reduced the daily workload and enabled customers to work independently. Other benefits include simple template management and improved control over the content accessed by customers.
This leads to a more streamlined way of working and increases customer satisfaction. The impact is reflected in increased productivity and customer autonomy. The optimization of the document creation process leads to time savings for both TKE employees and customers.

Another highly valued advantage is that a complicated topic and regulations that are difficult to understand can be presented via the questionnaire in such a way that every customer can check the cybersecurity of the system for themselves without in-depth understanding. Without such a questionnaire, this would be impossible. They were able to develop the questionnaire once and roll it out at their various companies in Germany - in the respective design and with minimal adjustments.

The profile

With customers in over 100 countries served by more than 50,000 employees, TK Elevator generated revenue of around €9 billion in the 2022/2023 financial year. They ensure a high level of customer service around the globe through their extensive network of around 1,000 locations worldwide. In recent decades, TK Elevator has established itself as one of the world's leading elevator companies and is now independent following its spin-off from the thyssenkrupp Group in August 2020. The company's most important business area is the service business, which is represented by around 25,000 technicians. The product portfolio ranges from standardized elevators for smaller residential buildings to customized solutions for skyscrapers. They also offer escalators, moving walks, passenger boarding bridges and stair and platform lifts. Integrated cloud-based solutions, such as our MAX platform, expand our service portfolio. With these digital offerings, there are no longer any limits to urban mobility. TKE - move beyond.
